Shooting Star Children's Hospices cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across west London and Surrey. We're here to make every moment count, whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months, or years. We support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional, and medical care. Our specialist care and support is free of charge and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Professional Open Day - The Role of a Children's Hospice

We welcome visits from health and social care professionals including nurses, social workers and doctors to help provide a better understanding of the service we provide as a children's hospice. Beyond our core role of providing palliative care to babies, children and young people, we offer a wide range of support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Six times a year we host professional open days at Christopher’s, our Guildford hospice. The visit starts with a presentation about Shooting Star Children’s Hospices which includes the history, what services are available, referral criteria and process as well as how the service is funded. This is followed by a tour of the hospice with the opportunity to ask questions and find out more from a member of our care team.
